Hmmm...here's some interesting polling data, allegedly from inside Iran.
About 79% of Iranians want an open and free election. And 61% think that it's wrong for the country to be run by the clergy. But, only 56% are willing to openly criticize President Ahmadinejad.
Here's my interpretation of those three figures. As you go from the generic to the specific, you get increasingly smaller percentages of people who are willing to criticize. One realy good reason for that is fear...fear that you are going to get thrown in jail, or worse, for answering a poll.
Most interestingly, 80% of Iranians are willing to give up their country's nuclear weapons ambitions in exchange for aid from other countries.
