New Look In Ames

This one's for Don as the news conference in Ames today to showcase the new Iowa State sports logo probably didn't make the news in his neck of the woods.

They also showed off the football helmet and uniforms that the 'Clones will wear starting next season. Thankfully, the proposal to go with a white helmet was nixed. They'll go with cardinal. Interestingly, the gold they'll be using is the same as the only other BCS Conference school that wears cardinal and gold...the University of Southern California.

Gotta say that I'm happy they stuck with the cardinal helmet, though I'm not certain about that particular logo on a cardinal background. The cardinal home jersey is a keeper. That definitely looks better than the current jersey. The gold pants with dual cardinal stripes is also nice.
